All donors receive an invite to the workshop (if you give us your email address)
There is no feeling like when you get a call from the school nurse that your child has been cutting.
"MY baby??" you wonder. "The baby I fed and clothed and diapered? And now I'm trying to get them into braces and driving them to all of their appointments and just trying to have some kind of good relationship with them, that baby??"
After the shock subsides, the pain begins. And the confusion. And the questions, so many questions.
"When? When did this start?"
"Why? Why would you even think to hurt your perfect body like this?"
"What can I do? What can I say that won't make it worse? What do I do about our home? Their friends? How do I find a therapist?"
Your heart starts screaming, "How do I fix this?!"
No parent should have to go through that alone.
This Ask. Listen. Plan. Suicide Prevention Workshop will cost $1,000 to produce. The majority of funds going directly to compensating our trained LGBTQ+ therapists and facilitators who will present the information. The rest of the funds go towards spreading the word to get any parent there that wants to be there, making sure we have legal protection to give the information, and technology needs.
This workshop will take place in Q1 of 2022.
If more than $1,000 is raised, all funds will go towards future workshops for parents and caregivers. When funds allow, we do at least one parent workshop per quarter. Our last one in November 2021 was focused on suicide prevention.
Every donor will be emailed an invite to the Workshop and have access to the replay, as long as we have your email address.
